The IndexMachine Chrome extension: Request Indexing on autopilot

The extension is the part of IndexMachine that presses Google's own Request Indexing for you. It works inside your Chrome, in your own Search Console, for every page that still needs it: every day on autopilot, and within minutes when you press Request indexing now.

What you get

  • Google's own Request Indexing, pressed for you. Every day, in your own Search Console, for every page that still needs it. No more pasting URLs one by one.
  • Your full daily Google quota on every site. Every request Google allows you goes to a page that needs it, on every site you connect.
  • On demand within minutes. Press Request indexing now in your dashboard while Chrome is open, including a re-index of a page you just updated.
  • No wasted requests. Pages already on Google don't use your quota unless you ask for a re-index.
  • Every result in your dashboard. See what was requested and what made it onto Google, page by page.

The extension is one part of IndexMachine. The dashboard adds index monitoring, 404 alerts, a weekly email report and unlimited IndexNow for Bing. The full picture is on how IndexMachine works.

Private by design

The extension works only on Google Search Console and Google sign-in, in your own account, and has no access to any other website. Details are in the privacy policy and the extension privacy policy.

Install it in two minutes

  1. Add it from the Chrome Web Store

Open the IndexMachine GSC Indexer listing and press Add to Chrome.

  2. Connect it to your account

Open the extension setup page in the IndexMachine app and paste your connection key into the extension. Don't have an account yet? Sign-up is free.

  3. Sign in to Search Console in the same Chrome

Use the same Google account as your IndexMachine login, so every request goes out from your own account.

  4. Leave Chrome running

That's it. The extension works in the background and the popup shows what it did today.

Why an extension, and not an API?

Because Request Indexing is a button in Search Console, not an API for ordinary pages. Google's Indexing API is documented only for job postings and livestreams; the Request Indexing button works for any page on a site you own. The extension uses that button in your own signed-in account, so you never add a service account to your property and every request is one you could have made yourself.

The extension is free. Daily indexing for your sites starts at $12.50 once with code BETA50; see the pricing page.

FAQ

What does the IndexMachine Chrome extension do?

It puts Google's own Request Indexing in your Search Console on autopilot. Every day it requests indexing for the pages that still need it, using your full daily Google quota, and every result shows up in your IndexMachine dashboard.

Why does IndexMachine need a browser extension?

Request Indexing lives in Search Console, inside your signed-in Google account. The extension works there, as you, so every request goes through Google's own Request Indexing in your own account.

Do I have to keep Chrome open?

Chrome has to be running for the Google requests to go out. If it is closed, nothing is lost: the extension carries on the next time Chrome starts. IndexNow submissions to Bing don't need the extension at all.

Which Google account does the extension use?

The account you are signed in to Search Console with in that Chrome. It must be the same Google account you use for IndexMachine; if it isn't, the extension pauses and tells you, so nothing is ever requested from the wrong account.

Can the extension see the other websites I visit?

No. It works only on Google Search Console and Google sign-in, and has no access to any other website.

Is the extension free?

Yes, it is free to install from the Chrome Web Store. It requests indexing for sites on a paid IndexMachine plan, which starts at $12.50 once with code BETA50; signing up and seeing your index report is free.

Install once. It presses the button every day.
